A 2023 Fender Custom Shop collection, the 1956 Stratocaster® Journeyman Relic® features the look, sound, and vibe of an exquisitely reinvented golden-era Stratocaster, more than 65 years after its eponymous predecessor. .

The 2-piece select ash body features an off-center seam that brings a lively sound to the balanced treble and sweet midrange. Available in Aged White Blonde, Wide Fade Two-Color Sunburst, Aged Black, and Aged Sherwood Metallic in a rich Journeyman Relic Flashcoat lacquer finish. This special finish recreates a look that has changed hands or been passed down through the years, giving it the feel of a home that has been used a fair amount for the occasional jam session or weekend gig. I am wearing it. This is a well-maintained piece that perfectly reproduces light cracks, familiar scratches and dents in the wood, and slight hardware deterioration over time.

The 1-piece flat-sawn maple neck has a chunky 54-style soft "V" profile with a comfortable vintage compound radius (7.25" - 9.5") maple fingerboard, 21 medium vintage frets (47095) and a bone nut. , slightly flattened towards the nut for ease of choking. Three Custom Shop hand-wound '55 Strat® pickups, including a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup with hum canceling in switch positions 2 and 4, feature the same wiring and 5-way switch found in vintage Strats from '54 to '58. This provides exceptionally clear highs and a balanced midrange.

Other premium features include a single-ply parchment pickguard, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, wing string tree with nylon spacers, and includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.
