1960 Gibson Les Paul Custom “Black Beauty” – 3 PAF Pickups – Factory Refinish – Killer Player

Here’s your chance to own a true piece of Gibson history, a 1960 Les Paul Custom “Black Beauty” with three original PAF pickups. This is a player-grade gem that offers all the magic of Gibson’s golden era, at a fraction of the price of a museum piece.

This Les Paul retains all three of its original PAF pickups (with all three PAF stickers still intact) that sound rich, dynamic, and harmonically complex. Whether you're chasing classic rock, blues, or jazz tones, this guitar delivers with authority. It’s responsive and resonant.  The covers, which have been removed but are included in the case, are original and still retain a significant amount of gold plating.  The wiring harness is all original with the original Centralab potentiometers dating to the 29th week of 1959.  The bridge, tailpiece, and tuners are original to the guitar and also retain most of the gold plating.  The pick guard, truss rod cover, and switch cover along with switch tip look to be replaced, likely when it was refinished.  The volume/tone knobs also look to be original.  Frets are the original low-wide frets from the factory and play well with low action across the fretboard.  The guitar was sent to Gibson in the mid-70’s for a refinish that presents beautifully, with that sleek, aged black gloss and plenty of vintage vibe.  

This is a player-grade instrument, not a case queen. It’s been played and loved, but never abused. The refinish is believed to be a Gibson factory job from the 1970s, preserving much of the original integrity and adding to its unique story.  If you’ve been hunting for an authentic way into vintage Les Paul Customs — especially one with real PAFs — this is an unbeatable entry point.
