1951 Gibson ES-175

Weight: 5 lbs 11 oz

Neck Depth 1st fret: .91"

Neck Depth 12th fret: 1.00"

An incredible example of the quintessential jazz guitar straight from 1951.  Introduced in 1949, the ES-175 has become ubiquitous with jazz and swing guitar as it was a well made and sounding affordable instrument.  These early models are generally lightweight and incredibly resonate and this one is no exception.  The original single P90 Dog Ear is so well balanced and brings out all of the acoustic properties of this guitar that it is really difficult to get a bad sound out of it.  This one has had a recent re-fret done be local Cleveland expert luthier Ken Lesko using period correct fret wire and plays perfectly on all 19 frets.  The tuners have been swapped for quality Japanese made Gotoh Kluson copies.  The finish is in very good condition for a 75 year old guitar, it has checked beautifully throughout with a few noticeable dings/scratches in the top. There is some mild degradation to the finish on the back of the neck, but it still plays beautifully and feels very comfortable. This guitar comes with its original Brown Lifton case, with a little name adornment from likely the original owner, as well as a custom made Calton Case for the upmost protection.  Available for Demo at Guitar Riot HQ in our Ohio City Showroom.   Please call with any questions prior to purchase.  Shipping with Fedex Express only at buyer's expense.
