1967 is a particularly notable year for Stratocaster®. With the arrival of the Jaguar and Jazzmaster, the Stratocaster was in competition as siblings, and Fender was reducing production in anticipation of ditching the Stratocaster altogether. However, at the Monterrey Pop Festival in June 1967, Jimi Hendrix dazzled audiences with a legendary performance that changed the Stratocaster's fortunes and put it back in fashion. The Custom Shop 1967 Stratocaster Heavy Relic® evokes the glory of a classic by intentionally applying scratches and dents to the model of that memorable year as if it had been used for many years.

Hand-picked two-piece alder body with Heavy Relic lacquer finish, tinted maple neck features large headstock, '67 Oval "C" neck shape, 9.5"-radius round ram rosewood fingers Board, 21 narrow tall frets are adopted, and rational play is possible. Hand-wound pickups include a Texas Special™ bridge, RWRP Fat '50s middle and '69 neck pickups, with 5-way switching, Vintage Modified #2 wiring and a 3-ply parchment pickguard for the ultimate tone combination. It has come true. Other features include a Custom Shop vintage-style synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree with nylon spacers. Comes with deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
